Information for first time applicants
Thank you for your inquiry about working at Camp Tawingo during the upcoming summer. Please note that our staff hiring policies leave very limited opportunities for staff who have not previously been campers with us. Our program is somewhat specialized in nature and the campers who have grown up at Camp Tawingo have first-hand knowlege, skills, and a full understanding of our programs, philosophies, and expectations. That is not to say that we never hire from 'outside' our own Camp community - only that a position for a brand new candidate is rare.
We are in a position to consider new applications, if required, by late February. If you care to complete an application for work with us, please contact us early in the new year. You may also download a staff application and send it to us by mail anytime. Please do not expect a reply from us earlier than March. Because of the high number of applicants, Camp Tawingo has a policy of contacting only those candidates with whom it wishes to arrange interviews.
Best wishes and good luck in your quest for a summer position outdoors with youth.
