A Typical Day at Camp
Below is a daily schedule here at Camp Tawingo. There is so much to do that we can hardly fit it in!!


7:00 AM

Pre Breakfast Activities: Morning Dip, Runners' Club, Advanced Swimming, Eagle Canoeing, Weather reporting, Aerobics.


8:00 AM

"Thought-for-the-Day" presented by a cabin group in the Joan West Memorial Chapel.


8:10 AM

Breakfast is served in the Pop Pearse Lodge. We also hear a weather report and announcements for the day.


9:00 AM

Flagraising on the Front Terrace. We also sing "O Canada".


9:15 AM

Cabin Clean-Up and Cabin plans for the day.


9:45 AM

Interest Groups! During Interest Groups each day, Camp Tawingo campers develop skills and attitudes that help them live comfortably in the outdoors. Campers acquire a series of skills in the areas of Nature, Campcraft, Swimming, Canoeing, and Outtripping. In addition, individual circles are invited to participate in a specific craft or sports activity.


11:30 AM

Free Time! General Swim, Sports Activities, Library Tournaments, Craft-of-the-Day, Free Boating, Musical Rehearsal, and special opportunities to improve Camp skills.


12:30 PM

Lunch is served in the Pop Pearse Lodge. We usually have a sing song after announcements and a Rest Period after that.


2:45 PM

Afternoon Program: A variety of recreation activities enjoyed by a cabin group, an age group, an All-Boys' or All-Girls' group, or the entire camp.


4:30 PM

Free Time! General Swim, Sports Activities, Library Tournaments, Craft-of-the-Day, Free Boating, Musical Rehearsal, and special opportunities to improve Camp skills.
 

5:30 PM
Flag Lowering, announcements, and supper.


6:30 PM

Free Time! Free Boating, Sportsfield Play, Cabin dip and Group Games.


7:30 PM

Evening Program: A variety of recreation activities enjoyed by a cabin group, an age group, an All-Boys' or All-Girls' group, or the entire camp. Programs include: Campfires, Native Council, Musical Productions, Pioneer Activities and Crafts, Midway, Night Hikes, Sports events.


8:30 PM

Lights Out for the youngest campers.


9:00 PM

Lights Out for the intermediate campers.


9:30 PM

Lights Out for the oldest campers.
