 At Camp Tawingo, campers are at the heart of everything we do. Campers are part of cabin groups who plan activities with their counsellors and go to numerous different areas of Camp to do them. You can play in the clay pits, paddle in canoes, climb Eagle Mountain, or play mini-putt at the Sportsfield...
Here are some of the great Camp Tawingo Programs:
The Waterfront
Camp Tawingo has an amazing waterfront. Can you canoe? We have 75 canoes for you to try. You can also go rowing, sailing, and kayaking. We have five swimming pools in the lake - one of them has two diving boards and a big red slide.
The Campcraft Program
 Crestwood is the place where you can learn all about canoe trips. Here we teach many different camp skills including knot tying, fire building, map and compass work, and outdoor cooking. There are opportunities to go out with your cabin on overnight trips and extended trips. If you are a senior camper (14-16 years of age with a Fox Crest), you can register to go on the Voyageur Adventure, (a fifteen day canoe trip for boys) or the Wilderness Journey, (a fifteen day canoe trip for girls).
The Nature Program
SWAMP Lodge is the name of our nature centre. At SWAMP Lodge we learn about nature through hikes, games, and observation. The letters of SWAMP represent different nature themes - Stars, Weather, Animals, Minerals, Plants. In SWAMP Lodge, there is a nature museum set up for you to enjoy. You also get a chance to feed and take care of the animal guests at the SWAMP Lodge Hotel.
The Sports Program
If you like sports then the Sportsfield is the place to be! Here you can play many different sports including mini-putt, archery, badminton, ball hockey, baseball, basketball, football, ultimate frisbee, golf, lacrosse, tennis, orienteering, soccer, table tennis, tetherball, and volleyball. There are also many different tournaments that take place during each session.
Special Programs
 There are always special camp programs going on! We have porgrams for All of Camp, just Boys' Camp, and just the Girls' Camp. In First Session, we often hold the "Tawingo Games", in which different 'countries' compete in a great day of exciting events. The "Ray Marinko Relay" is a giant land and water relay race. It is definitely a highlight of the Second Session. In Third Session the Woodland Native Circles compete against the Iroquoian Circles in a great afternoon program before "Native Council" in the evening.
At the beginning of every Session of Camp there is an opportunity for you to sign up to participate in a musical production. In the past, some of the musicals have been "Happy Feet", "Finding Nemo", "The Wizard of Oz", and "The Lion King".
In each session we hold an evening Native Council. This is a program in which we imagine what it might have been like to live in this region as did the First Nations.
Each summer's session is capped off with a delicious Banquet, a singsong, and a slide show highlighting all of the great Camp memories of the session.
Your Cabin
 When you come to Camp Tawingo, you will stay in a cabin with 6 or 7 other campers your age. There is a trained counsellor who is there to supervise your cabin and help you have the best time possible. In each cabin, there is a bathroom with a toilet and shower with hot and cold running water. The cabins are bright and clean. Your comfort, safety, and happiness are our main concerns while you are at Camp!
