I really wanted to thank you for making Josh's first camp experience so fantastic. Josh talks about camp every single day, and can't wait to go back.

About our Summer Camp
Celebrating a Birthday at CampCamp Tawingo is a private Camp operating as a children's Residential Summer Camp, a children's Summer Day Camp, a year-round Outdoor Education Centre, and a private, co-ed, independent, Elementary day School in the beautiful Muskoka region of Ontario, Canada. In addition, the Directors are actively involved in the camping community at large and are committed to providing leadership and support to local, regional, national, and international camping communities.

In 1961, Jack and Helen Pearse founded Camp Tawingo with a vision of creating a summer oasis of safe, wholesome, traditional, camper-centered fun for boys and girls.  This they did - and then some - for over four decades.  Today, Michael and Tia Pearse, along with a highly trained and supremely caring staff, lovingly and faithfully dedicate themselves to that same vision, and to the preservation of the important camp traditions set by Jack and Helen.  Together, we warmly welcome you to explore the magic, beauty, and community of Camp Tawingo.

Our Philosophy

Muddy Campers Camp Tawingo is committed to providing every camper with the experience of a lifetime. Competent and caring leaders ensure that each camper has the opportunity to grow and learn as an individual within the cabin group.

Campers are encouraged to take responsibility, to make decisions, and to exercise initiative through positive interaction. Every opportunity is provided for self-expression and self-discovery.

As children experience this respect, care, and support, their self-esteem and self-confidence develop to the point where they can reach their full potential in the community of camp.

Camp Tawingo is all about fun, adventure, cooperation, friendship, leadership, inspiration, and citizenship.

It is about children being all they can be.

To this - we are committed.

About the Tawingo T
Tawingo T Logo The Tawingo 'T' combines and adapts two Algonkin symbols. Wavy lines represent flowing waters and winding trails. The central grid represents a meeting place. Tawingo is a place where streams converge, paths cross, and people meet. It provides people with great opportunities and strong friendships forged in an open and caring community. The strength of Tawingo is in the friends who frequent it.....
